Meet Dr. Waeil Elmisalati
Dr. Waeil Elmisalati is a board-certified periodontist and implant surgeon at Lakeview Smiles of Chicago. He graduated from Harvard University, School of Dental Medicine and received his degree in periodontology and dental implants, a fellowship in periodontology, and master’s in medical sciences from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Elmisalati has also taught as a professor of periodontics and dental implants at several academic institutions in the United States.
He has published and reviewed research articles in reputable national and international dental journals. In 2016, Dr. Elmisalati became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is well versed in minimally invasive dental surgery, including impacted wisdom teeth extractions, gingival grafts, and implant placements. He is also an expert consultant for Joint Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Elmisalati finds being active in the community is crucial for a healthcare professional. In the past few years, he volunteered his time to provide free dental care as part of the Mission of Mercy. He is also involved in organized dentistry, being an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Team for Implantology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Association, and the American Dental Education Association. In addition, he is an ambassador for the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation.
He moved to Chicago after living in Boston for several years for his education. In his spare time, Dr. Elmisalati enjoys exploring new restaurants, cooking, skiing, running, cycling, traveling, and spending time with his friends.
